[001] Audio
Yeah, I don't believe Mr. Lordy Face for a second. This is all the stupid Core's fault. I really don't get why they sent me here though. Is this what happens when you are rehabilitated? Is this punishment? I was just trying to have a simple sleepover and then I get uprooted and...
[Her grumbling, which sounds like a displeased puppy, trails off and there is a small pause. The faint sound of sniffing can be heard in the background.]
It smells weird here too. Couldn't they have at least stuck me in a place that doesn't smell funky?
And what about Nigel! Who's going to feed him! Great job Core! You're a bunch of bunny killers. I hope you are happy with yourselves.
[There is more grumbling that turns into a growl before the audio ends.]

If it's not his fault, I'll be pretty surprised. I haven't found anything here that proves it's not.
no subject
I don't know. Maybe he could be working for the Core. They have to be behind it somehow.

[There is clear confusion in her voice. She doesn't get the from different worlds thing yet, and she can't understand how someone doesn't know who the government is.]

Somehow I doubt the Core, whoever that is, had anything to do with this. You can thank Lord D-bag for your one-way ticket here.
no subject
[...How can she not know who the Core is? Has she been living in a cave?]
Lord D-Bag. I like that. Has a nice ring to it.
no subject
[Naw, just a dorm room! Above ground, even!]
Yeah, suits him pretty well too.
no subject
[Tahlia is not convinced!]
Have you met him in person?

[Ryn normally would've bypassed this completely, but this is the first time she's heard someone other than herself use 'the Core.' Suddenly, she's incredibly fucking interested.]
Are you from a facility?
no subject
What is this place really? What are we doing here?
[She doesn't mean to sound as frantic as she does. She's just already had too much taken away from her.]
no subject
[There's some cautious relief here. Because oh, man, if this is someone else that actually knows who the fuck the Core are...]
I don't know. People keep insisting the Core aren't behind it. In fact, you're the first damn person here that's even heard of them.
no subject
[She sounds a little embarrassed. She remembers some of the looks people would give her when they found out she was born in a facility.]
Who else could it be? The first person? How can they not know who the government is?

[Claudia has a admit she's amused by Tahlia.]
Mister Lordy face has a lair face.
[Amusement is replaced with sympathy and a little frustration.]
And nope, no rehabilitation here. We're just stuck in no mans land.
no subject
He does! I'm glad someone else agrees.
So this place isn't for...anything?
[There is a pause and a sigh. Just great.]
I guess it is just switching one prison for another. I can deal.
[There is some bitterness in her voice, but some spunk has returned as well.]
no subject
I've been going with, it's here to annoy me. But basically? Yeah.
[What what was that? She's not freaked out, just surprised. Care to explain?]
Sooooo, prison?
no subject
[It comes out as a question because she really doesn't know how bad this place is. For all she knows there could be demon clowns popping up around every corner.]
Yup, I was born in a facility.
[Tahlia says it like Claudia should know what a facility is, but Tahlia is starting to learn that most people don't know what the heck she is talking about so she adds more detail.]
A facility is where the government put people when they thought people were disturbing the peace.

[Alex's face pops up on 'camera'; Tahlia, you had him at 'smells weird'. Have a lovely androgynous person on your journal page, Tahlia!]
Well, you might consider it a punishment and would be far from alone in the grand scheme of things... but, as you've heard by now, you're definitely not where you came from and the possibility of going back is pretty minimal; at least for a while.
[And Alex isn't just going to straight up and ask her about the smell remark, because if she is a shifter of some kind, she might not want to broadcast it all over the place.]
I'm Alex.
no subject
Yup, I've heard.
[She's starting to come to terms about being stuck here, so she's not sounding as grumpy.]
It can't be too bad, right? I guess I might as well make the best of it.
I'm Tahlia, nice to meet you.
[Tahlia's tone is chipper with her introduction. She has to remember her manners and doesn't want to sound rude.]
no subject
Believe me, it can be far worse most of the time.
[At her introduction, his expression warms and he dips his head slightly in acknowledgment.]
The pleasure is all mine, Tahlia... You have any questions about this place?

[Talia makes a point of reading through/listening to everything that's been said before her response before adding her own. Her expression is calm, though any that know her well enough will note that she looks tired and strained.]
I would advise to refrain from violence unto others while you are here... the Lord of this place seems rather to enjoy his punishment sessions and I would not recommend you earn one for yourself. Injury to another guest or staff member, or damage to the Keep property can both earn a swift, and violent, punishment. There seems to be no telling precisely what earns what punishment, but there have been no repeats during my time here and, while archaic, they prove more than effective.
Keep yourself within the Keep boundaries and do not attempt to scale or escape from the outer walls that border the lands here; doing so will result in your death. Death, while not permanent here, does result in the temporary loss of ones memories.
[Her lips quirk slightly at the last.]
I hope you do not feel the pressing need to test this...
no subject
[Tahlia feels like a little kid being lectured by her teacher. If she had been in wolf form, Tahlia feels like her tail would be tucked between her legs right now. When she speaks her voice is faint.]
I'm...I'm not one for violence.
Thanks for the info.
[She means it. Without being told that, Tahlia may have tried to go over the walls.]
No, no, I won't. I'm not a fan of dying.
no subject
I do not mean to chastise even before you have acted, child, and apologize if it sounded as such. I merely meant to advise as one whom has experienced these things before and does not wish that upon anyone else. Death, while not permanent, is no less unpleasant and the punishments...
[She trails off, her lips thinning slightly before she continues in an even tone once more.]
While archaic, they are still more than sufficient.

[She tries to think how to describe them.]
You know, they've got ears.
[Fail.]
And little twitchy noses and cotton ball tails and they hop.
Most of them don't like me either, but Nigel was an exception.

*He's just going to accept that as "another weird human name for something."*
